New Pool

S.P.A.C are pleased to announce that our members can now fish the Meir & Longton British Legion pool at Hobbergate.
In return their members can fish Hobbergate pool and Wilds farm pool.
A gate code is required for the lock available from club officials or membership outlets.
There is no night fishing on their pool.

Hospital Pool

4_hospitalThe Hospital pool is a small pool, but contain's plenty of fish
Carp, Bream, Roach, Rudd & Perch
The pool can accomodate about 6 anglers, but is prone to water level fluctuations in dry weather
Please take note,
For your safety
Anyone fishing with a pole, or found fishing below the electric cables could face expulsion from the club

April Monthly Meeting
The April monthly meeting has been put back 1 week to the 16th April

We are pleased to announce that as from the weekend 14th April we will have another pool to fish.

Details will be made available shortly and also at the April meeting.

As for all our waters membership cards with photo must be carried at all times.

Mirror carp are a type of fish, commonly found in the United Kingdom and Europe.
They can grow in excess of 60lb - the last few British record fish have all been mirror carp.

Tench have a stocky, carp-like shape, olive-green skin, darker above and almost golden below.  The mouth is rather narrow and provided at each corner with a very small barbel.  Maximum size is 70 cm.

Roach are typically a small fish, often reaching no more than about 35 cm in length. A fish of 1 kg (2¼ lb) would be considered a largish specimen but they can, attain weights just in excess of 1.8 kg (4 lb).
perch1

Perch are lovers of both still and running water, but prefer to live close to, beneath or among structures like wooden pilings and boat-houses, sunken tress, deep holes and gullies, and road and railway bridges which span the river systems. They are happiest when surrounded by the vertical stems of marginal plants.
